10 Months

This smart boy of ours is now 10 months old. He has reached some fun milestone this past month.

(Yes, I may be writing this as Blake devours his blueberry muffin made my Grandpa Lindley... Had to share a glimpse into our morning.)

Blake is a great little crawler. He is fast and can get where he wants. He has a funny crawl as he mostly relies on his left leg to propel him forward, but hey, it works.

He has mastered the stairs. Well going up them that is. He loves crawling up them and then turns around, looks at all the stairs he climbed, and smiles very proudly. We are still working on going down. I'm afraid I have a dare devil on my hands. Blake likes the take the plunge and fall down the stairs approach.

He is excellent at using his pincher fingers to pick up food. That is both food on his tray and crumbs on the floor that he probably shouldnt be eating. This month he accidentally ate a pumpkin seed and a little play dough. It's a full time job keeping stuff out of his mouth!

Although he isn't talking, he is starting to communicate. He points to the circle on his tray when he wants water (we usually keep his sippy there) and he pats our legs when he wants to be held. It's fun to see his mind develop.

Stranger anxiety has set in! He loves mom and dad and doesn't mind other people as long as we are in sight, but if we leave the room he gets a little worried.  This has also affected nap time a little bit as he doesn't like being left alone.

He is Mr. Curious. He likes to feel, taste, and grab pretty much everything.

Blake's favorite toys are his mini kitchen spoons and spatchulas that we received as a wedding gift.

As mentioned before, he is most obsessed with stairs, but also with electrical outlets and cords. This means there has been some serious baby proofing around here.

He isn't very cuddly these days, but every once in a while he will come up to me and lay his head on my lap or chest. I love those moments! It usually means he is tired and ready for nap time.

A few days ago he learned to drop some of his food in a glass of water and then reach his hand in and pick it up. Sounds weird, but it was so funny to watch him discover this new thing and he was entertained for a good 15 minutes!

Blake pulls himself up to standing against anything he can find. He is becoming much more stable on his feet.

Sleep has become more consistent. He usually sleep from 7:30-6:15, wakes for a feeding, and then sleeps until 7:15.

I'm starting to feel like my very dependent baby is becoming an independent toddler. He loves just being down on the ground exploring. We sure love our Blake!!

can't get enough of that charming smile!
