All About Planes

Blake has loved all things Planes recently. He loves both of the movies (we watch them WAY too frequently) and all of the characters. Over time he has accumulated quite the collection of toys from the movie and loves to put them down for naps (by turning them over) when he has to go down for a nap. There was no other option but to throw a Planes party for his second birthday.

We kept things pretty simple and inexpensive, but with a little creativity, Matt and I were able to decorate our living room into party central. Blake loved waking up the morning of his party and looking at all the airplanes and balloons on the wall. Seeing his excitement was so fun for us.

Having a birthday in January is bad for one thing--SICKNESS. Blake wasn't sick, but about half of the kids he invited were sick and were not able to make it. We missed them, but still had a great time.

We played stick the patch on Dusty, raced paper airplanes, and threw balls and balloons into big cardboard airplanes. Other than that, the kids played, Blake opened some presents, we had lunch (pigs in a blanket, Cheetos, popcorn, grapes, & bananas), and all the kids blew out a candle on their cupcake. Blake couldn't figure out how to blow out his candle at his party, but he mastered it the next day on his birthday. Throwing a birthday party for a two year old is the best thing ever because they pretty much love everything!
