Where We Have Been

In the past week we have been through Wyoming, Nebraska, and Iowa en route to our new home for the summer, Chicago. We spread the traveling out over three days and Blake did great.

The first afternoon we enjoyed some family swim time and local BBQ with fresh peach cobbler in good ol' Laramie, WY. 

The second afternoon we enjoyed visiting the Mormon sites at Winter Quarters in Omaha and finished off the evening with Philly cheese steaks and cold stone.

I tell you, the way to enjoy a long road trip is to have delicious rewards at the end of the day. :) Isn't that what Mary Poppins says too? That means it's fact. Yep, a spoon full of sugar certainly helps the medicine/road trip go down.

And we made it! We arrived in Chicago on Saturday afternoon and have enjoyed getting settled here. Matt started his internship today and I can't wait for him to get home and tell me all about it. But in the mean time, me and Mr. Blake have some birds to go see down by the lake. That is if he ever wakes up from his nap!
