London- Day 2

Monday morning the exercise crew woke up bright and early (at 6:00 am) for a light jog. We meant to only go a few miles, but we wanted to see Kensington Palace (where William, Kate, and George live) so we ended up going about 7 miles. It was a beautiful run past Buckingham Palace and through Hyde Park. Kensington Palace was gorgeous as well, especially the gardens.

When we returned from our run we were surprised to find our babies (and husbands) all still asleep! We had a great first nights sleep which was a relief because jet lag has the potential to be disastrous.

After some breakfast (egg sandwiches and pasteries) from a local cafe we set out for the day.

We walked to Big Ben and then got on a river cruise down the Thames that led us to the Tower of London. We then toured the Tour of London, seeing the Crown Jewels, and made our way back, stopping at Westminster Abby.

That evening we had a delicious Sicilian dinner at a restaurant near by our hotel. Matt's pasta carbonara and my chicken salad were both really good. Then my parents took the 4 grand babies back to the hotel and put them to sleep while the rest of us went off to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The show was outstanding. The set, the costumes, the performers; it was all really well done. We couldn't help but indulge in some chocolate during intermission. That show makes you hungry! We had an amazing time in London.
